Located in the Texas Hill Country AVA, Texas Hills Vineyard was planted in 1995. Kathy and Gary Gilstrap purchased the land just outside Johnson City because it reminded them of the Tuscan countryside they loved to visit and also of the vineyards where we purchase additional Texas grapes.
Texas Hills Vineyard is open to the public. Our web site offers you a private glimpse into the beautiful place we call home. Our winery and tasting room are as environmentally friendly as any building we could construct. It is built of earth from the back of our property using a technique called rammed earth.
